Over the course of several days, I spoke to many people about what Foley represented to them and their families. Two of the interviewees--Pat Carter and Laura Haraka--met the men at Foley they would marry. Another talks about the Easter egg hunts he enjoyed with his father back in the late '40s. Others comment on how the field, in its shuttered state, is effecting them today.
